I expect human genetics to be a challenging course that will require a student that is willing to work hard and learn the subject matter. With the new research discoveries being made in genetics, and also being a student of science exposed to the scientific world, it is to my advantage to learn human genetics for personal growth. Not only would attaining knowledge of genetics help me personally, but it will also benefit the community having another scientist that could assist with counteracting genetic problems. The assignments presented in class seem like they will help my critical thinking on a genetics level, which is also a skill needed in medical school. To be a successful student, I understand that I must learn the material and be able to apply it to life, rather than memorizing it for a short period of time. Learning the material will not only make me successful in the class, but it will make me successful in my future career goals.
