It is written in a scholarly fashion and is cited appropriately. The primary source usually, but not always follows a format containing the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Materials/Methods, Results, and Discussion. 2) A secondary source is one that uses a primary source for reference and is usually a review of the primary source. It is written in a manner so that a general audience can understand the scientific information.
