The Scientific Method is an approach to acquiring knowledge in the natural sciences. It is way that scientists are able to present new information and to support or disprove any prior theories that are of interest or in question. The scientific method has the following steps: 1) observation, 2) formation of a hypothesis from the observations, 3) Predictions, 4) data collection and analysis through a controlled experiment, 5) Results presented, and 6) a conclusion is drawn from the data. Once this process is completed, comparisons can be made to the hypothesis and from there it can either be confirmed or refuted. If confirmed, it can go through further testing, and may become a theory or a law.
