A primary resource provides first hand information on original work done by the author/authors. Primary resources are usually published in scientific journals and consist of original findings. A secondary resource is an article that usually reviews or interprets information from a primary resource. A secondary resource also uses a lot of citations because it is not original work and is usually peer reviewed.
