Jackie Medina 8-28-03 BIO 475-01 Enrichment Activity #3 SCIENTIFIC METHOD: The Scientific Method is a method that is used to conduct an experiment, or thoroughly research a topic. There are a series of steps that are involved in the Scientific Method that will help a person reach a scientific theory on what they are studying. These steps include Hypothesis, Experiment, Data, Results, and Conclusion. The hypothesis is an educated prediction on how the experiment will end up. This is done before the experiment is started. The experiment is then conducted and data is collected and examined. Trials of the same experiment are usually done to lessen the chance of error. The results are then shown and the conclusion will state whether the hypothesis was wrong or correct. If correct, the hypothesis becomes a theory and left for other scientists to either come to the same conclusion or prove wrong. If the conclusion proves the hypothesis wrong, then the researcher can start over with a new hypothesis.
